What is evacuation slide system?
An evacuation slide is an inflatable slide used to evacuate an aircraft quickly. In many modern planes, to reduce evacuation time, evacuation slides deploy automatically when a door is opened in an “armed” condition.

Which is gas is used to fill the evacuation?
We have seen that after an emergency landing when the airplane needs to be evacuated promptly, evacuation slides get deployed immediately. I am not sure if normal air is being inflated in those slides or do they use some other gas in them? They are filled with carbon dioxide, oxygen and nitrogen. See here for reference.
What kind of aircraft has an evacuation slide?
Airbus A310, Airbus 340-600, Airbus A380 and Boeing 747 aircraft have ramp slide attachments for their overwing evacuation slides. The overwing exits on the Airbus A320 series, Boeing 757-variant and Boeing 767-variant aircraft also use ramp slide attachments.
How does the gas in an evacuation slide work?
When a propellant in the generator is ignited, it produces a highly compressed gas almost instantly. This gas mixes with stored gas in the canister to accelerate slide inflation.
What kind of gas is used to inflate a slide?
Compressed gas is used to inflate the slide initially but only provides about one-third of the gas needed to inflate the slide fully. The rest comes from ambient air, which is channeled into the slide through aspirators.
