What is GPIO pin set?
A general-purpose input/output (GPIO) is an uncommitted digital signal pin on an integrated circuit or electronic circuit board which may be used as an input or output, or both, and is controllable by the user at runtime.
What are the GPIO pins on Raspberry Pi?
GPIO stands for General-Purpose Input/Output. These pins are a physical interface between the Raspberry Pi and the outside world. At the simplest level, you can think of them as switches that you can turn on or off (input) or that the Pi can turn on or off (output).

Is there a way to determine the mode of a GPIO?
Yes, you can determine the current mode of a gpio. You’d have to search the wiringPi documentation and source code to see if a method is implemented by wiringPi. My pigpio library provides the C I/F gpioGetMode function as well as Python and command line methods.
How is the pin number on a GPIO determined?
A gpio’s absolute pin number is calculated in the following manner: Z = 32*X + Y where X is again the gpio register and Y is the position within that register. i.e. GPIO2_24 is 32*2+24, making it GPIO_88.
How to enable GPIO on a Raspberry Pi?
Setting enable_jtag_gpio=1 selects Alt4 mode for GPIO pins 22-27, and sets up some internal SoC connections, thus enabling the JTAG interface for the ARM CPU. It works on all models of Raspberry Pi.
What are the alternate functions on STM32 GPIO pins?
3.3.3 Alternate functions On some STM32 GPIO pins, the user has the possibility to select alternate functions inputs / outputs. Each pin is multiplexed with up to sixteen peripheral functions such as communication interfaces (SPI, UART, I2C, USB, CAN, LCD and others), timers, debug interface, and others.
