What is it called when an object reflects light?
Reflection is when light bounces off an object. If the surface is smooth and shiny, like glass, water or polished metal, the light will reflect at the same angle as it hit the surface. This is called specular reflection.
What objects reflect light examples?
Some objects reflect light very well, like mirrors and white papers. Other objects, like brown construction paper, do not reflect as much light. What is an area light?
Area Lights An area light is a light that casts directional light rays from within a set boundary, either a rectangle or circle. All other light types emit light from a single point, where an area light emits light from an entire area which is generally more realistic.

How do materials absorb light?
Absorption depends on the electromagnetic frequency of the light and object’s nature of atoms. The absorption of light is therefore directly proportional to the frequency. If they are complementary, light is absorbed. If they are not complementary, then the light passes through the object or gets reflected.
How to hide light reflections in cycles lighting?
Ive used 2.79 a lot and know how to do this in 2.79, but not 2.8. I’m trying to figure out how to have an emissions light in cycles light some text, have the text reflect on a glossy plane, but hide the mesh that is an emission object from the reflection on the plane but not the reflections on the text.
