What is Nef in aviation?
Background: A NEF program allows operators to use the deferral authority granted in the master minimum equipment list (MMEL) to provide deferral relief for inoperative, damaged, or missing nonessential items located throughout an aircraft.
What is the difference between a MMEL and Mel?
Their difference is that the MEL is formulated for a particular operator and a certain aircraft or a few aircraft, whereas the MMEL is formulated for all aircrafts of this type. The MEL of the operator shall be based on the MMEL of a specific aircraft type and model approved by the authorities.
What is difference between Mel and CDL?
While the MEL describes the limitations of aircraft operation in case of a system being inoperative/having malfunctioned (e.g. transponder failure), the CDL deals with situations where external parts of an aircraft are missing/fallen off (e.g. fairings, aerodynamic seals or panels).
What is task card in aviation?
Task cards contain detailed information for scheduled maintenance work on aircraft or pieces of equipment. When tasks become due, work orders are generated. Warnings are generated when task cards meet or exceed their warning limit, to prevent the task cards becoming overdue.
WHO Issues Minimum Equipment List?
The master minimum equipment list (MMEL) is a list established for a particular aircraft type by the organisation responsible for the type design with the approval of the State of Design which identifies items which individually may be unserviceable at the commencement of a flight.
How does an MEL work?
In short it allows a pilot to legally fly the aircraft even if something is broken. Normally, if something is installed in an aircraft it’s supposed to work. The MEL allows the pilot to still fly, but with restrictions. If an aircraft has an MEL it is FAA approved.
What is acceptable deferred defect?
Definition. An identified aircraft defect which has been assessed as being within the requirements of the Minimum Equipment List (MEL) or Configuration Deviation List and has had rectification deferred within a specified limit. Also referred to as a CFD (Carried Forward Defect)

A Minimum Equipment List (MEL) is an FAA approved document that allows an aircraft owner/operator to fly with a certain item (s) inoperative. The Federal Aviation Administration produces a Master Minimum Equipment List (MMEL) for most aircraft to use. They provide the format that is acceptable to the administrator. Do you need to edit MMEL definitions for Mels?
For MELs, certain MMEL definitions may be edited and/or not required. MEL definitions, including format issues, will be tailored, as appropriate, dependent upon the aircraft operator’s make/model of aircraft, type of installed instrument and equipment items, and specific operation.
How to create a nef list for ACCG?

The Non-Essential Furnishings Program (NEF) applies to aircraft operators utilizing an MEL under either Part 91 or Part 135 operations. CCG provides operators with assistance in obtaining approval of a NEF program.
