What is ratsnest in Proteus Ares PCB?

What is ratsnest in Proteus Ares PCB?

The term Ratsnest is used to describe the pattern you get on the screen when the pin to pin connections specified in the netlist are shown as single straight lines rather than copper tracking. If using autorouter, ARES will generate copper tracking only between pads with ratsnest connection.

Can a link pad be generated in Ares?

The link is a component that only can be generated inside ARES, but as long as the netlist is generated with the information provided by ISIS, ARES won’t allow us to create any trace with the link, once the schematic doesn’t give any information about it.

Can a Proteus Ares link pad use autorouter?

If using autorouter, ARES will generate copper tracking only between pads with ratsnest connection. In this problem, a manual routing is being performed.

How to change track width on Proteus PCB?

First select the track mode by clicking the track mode button, and change the track width by clicking ‘C’ create or ‘E’ edit buttons shown in the below image. When we click the button C or E immediately a window will open. Select the width of the track from given list. It is better to select between 25, 40.

How to add custom ROM chip to Proteus?

There are a few EPROM chips in my design that do not exist in the Proteus library: Is it possible to add them to the Proteus library with support for simulation? Or is there maybe a generic ROM component that I can configure to behave like my EPROM (like set no of address lines, data lines and propagation delays)?

How can I add a part to my Proteus library?

The only way you will be able to do it, is to ask Proteus to add it to their library via the library and model request forums (only available to view by those signed up to the forums via a valid user license), or to create the part yourself. This document should be a good starting point.

What are the DRC errors in Ares Proteus?

The pad in question is highlighted. The rule highlights errors from different nets. In this case, you appear to have connected the pad highlighted to a track to pin 7, but the ratsnest shows this should be connected to pin 4.
