What do I mean by SharePoint Out of The Box functionality? Out of the box functionality in SharePoint means that I do not use any coding or 3rd party tools to solve business needs and wants of a client. No single line of code, no add-ons or third party web parts from the SharePoint Store.

- Document Workspace site template.
- Meeting Workspace site templates.
- Visio Process Repository site template.
- Imaging Web service.
- Excel Services — Can’t edit workbooks in the browser that have external data connections.
- Web Analytics in SharePoint Server 2010.

What does SharePoint out of the box really mean?
Concentrated on trying to fit SharePoint into their custom requirements instead of to see how their current processes maps into the default product. And of those a significant number stem from not using qualified SharePoint people to explain the features of SharePoint to the client.
Only that in SharePoint Online, you don’t have to worry about Workflow Manager as everything is taken care by Microsoft. Microsoft provides a bunch of workflows by default, these are often called out-of-the-box workflow templates. These workflows can be configured and used without any development effort.
It’s no surprise that its 2013 installment (including Office 365) is filled with cool and useful new features making upgrading a must. But for that choice to be obvious, you obviously need to know what these features are and how they will drastically help you build what might very well be one of the Greatest SharePoint of all time!
Are there any workflow templates in SharePoint Foundation?
By default, SharePoint foundation comes with only one workflow template i.e. the Three-state workflow. But with SharePoint server version we get many workflow templates, which help us manage documents in SharePoint. Just like a list template (a blueprint of a list) or a site template in SharePoint, we also have workflow templates.
