What is text width?
\textwidth is the normal width of the text on a page. It should generally be changed only in the preamble. \linewidth is the width of lines in the current environment. Normally equal to \textwidth, it may be different within an environment such as list or quote environments.
What is the width of a line?
The line width (ΔU) is defined as the distance between the points at which the absorption curve slope is maximal. Since the first derivative of the EPR spectra is recorded, the line width is measured as the distance between extremes of the experimental curve (Fig. 6.3).

What to do when your report is greater than the page width?
Do one or more of the following: Reduce the width of the controls that are spilling over the defined page dimensions of your report until all controls are within the defined page width. Note that line controls might be harder to see but if they extend over the page width, you’ll need to reduce the width of those line controls as well.
How to control the width of text output?
Not all R functions respect the width option. If this option does not work, your only choice may be to wrap the long lines of text. This is actually the default behavior of the html_document output format. If the HTML output format that you are using does not wrap the long lines, you may apply the CSS code below (see Section 7.1 for instructions):
