What is the difference between a tag and a category?
Categories are hierarchical which means you can create sub-categories. Tags are meant to describe specific details of your posts. Think of these as your site’s index words. They let you micro-categorize your content.
The HTML tags can also be simply divided based on basic categories like Basic HTML Root Tags, Formatting tags, Audio and Video Tags, Form and Input Tags, Frame Tags, Link Tags, List Tags, Table Tags, Style Tags, Meta Tags, etc.
What’s the difference between a category and a tag?
Categories and Tags are both great ways to slice and dice your data in any shape you want. They allow you to segment your data by customer profile, by emotion, by conversation type – anything you want. Technically, creating a Rule pointing to a Tag or a Category will do the same.
You’ll find them on the right-hand side under the ‘Document’ settings. You can also go to Posts » Categories and Posts » Tags to add new categories and tags. Before we discuss any of the questions listed above, we need to understand what is categories and tags. In the WordPress nomenclature, both categories and tags are known as taxonomies. Their sole purpose is to sort your content to improve the usability of your site.
