Application updates and installs should be fine until at least the end of 2021. The old 8.1 Store was given 30 months after end of support for the OS itself, if we extrapolate that to Windows 10 Mobile then the Store might last until summer 2022.

Is there anywhere to find and download Windows Phone 8/8.1 apps? I haven’t been able to find anywhere to download them. No, the Windows Store closed for Windows 8.1 closed last December.
