What is the new 2020 Substance painter?
Substance Painter 2020.1 (6.1. 0) delivers a brand new exporter, python scripting, a new curvature baker, new content, and lots of other workflow improvements. Starting with this release, the application version number will start to change its format. 2020.1 now becomes 6.1.
How do you scale a layer in substance painter?
To scale the layer:
- Hover your mouse over one of the handles at the edge or corner of the transform box.
- Your cursor will change into four arrows.
- Click and drag to scale the transform box.
Can you move layers in substance painter?
Click and drag to move a layer. When moving a layer, a bar can be visible which indicates where the layer will be put : Bar above a layer : the layer will be put above the layer.

Can you paint high poly objects in Substance Painter?
It doesn’t matter for Substance Painter if your object is a high poly or a low poly object, because Substance Painter doesn’t paint the vertex colour. It can only use the UV space for applying textures. You need to give the objects/UV-shells more density between the UV 0-1 space.
Is there a way to freeze transformations in Substance Painter?
This process will convert all of your meshes into regular meshes and allow you to freeze transformations so all of your -1 scales are converted to 1 (note: when meshes or groups are instanced, you can’t freeze transformations on the instances).
Is it possible to have a normal mesh in Maya?
The normal can look right, but if you have a negative scale applied to the mesh (which is usually the case when doing a symmetry in Maya) your mesh will appear with inverted normals. The issue is with Maya itself. Don’t forget your log file.
