What is worker in pool?
Worker pools are groups of workers, when a task is assigned to a worker, the task will be executed by one of the workers in the worker pools you’ve configured.
Why use worker pool?
By using limited pool of workers and keep the task on the queue, we can reduce the burst of CPU and memory since the task will wait on the queue until the the worker pull the task.
How many Goroutines can I run?
On a machine with 4 GB of memory installed, this limits the maximum number of goroutines to slightly less than 1 million.
How do you implement a Threadpool?
To use thread pools, we first create a object of ExecutorService and pass a set of tasks to it. ThreadPoolExecutor class allows to set the core and maximum pool size. The runnables that are run by a particular thread are executed sequentially. Method Description newFixedThreadPool(int) Creates a fixed size thread pool.
How does Go handle concurrency?
Concurrency in Golang is the ability for functions to run independent of each other. A goroutine is a function that is capable of running concurrently with other functions. The Golang runtime scheduler has feature to manages all the goroutines that are created and need processor time.
What is thread pool size?
The size of a thread pool is the number of threads kept in reserve for executing tasks. It is usually a tunable parameter of the application, adjusted to optimize program performance. Deciding the optimal thread pool size is crucial to optimize performance. Typically, a thread pool executes on a single computer.
Why is Goroutine lightweight?
Goroutines are lightweight, costing little more than the allocation of stack space. The stacks start small and grow by allocating and freeing heap storage as required. Internally goroutines act like coroutines that are multiplexed among multiple operating system threads.
