What is WorldClim data?
WorldClim is a database of high spatial resolution global weather and climate data. These data can be used for mapping and spatial modeling. You can download gridded weather and climate data for historical (near current) and future conditions.
What is WorldClim org?
URL http://www.worldclim.org/ Data policy. WorldClim is a set of global climate layers (climate grids) with a spatial resolution of about 1 square kilometer. The data can be used for mapping and spatial modeling in a GIS or with other computer programs.
Who made WorldClim?
WorldClim version 1 was developed by Robert J. Hijmans, Susan Cameron, and Juan Parra, at the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology, University of California, Berkeley, in collaboration with Peter Jones and Andrew Jarvis (CIAT), and with Karen Richardson (Rainforest CRC). NatureServe provided financial support.
How do you reference WorldClim?
Citation: Fick, S.E. and R.J. Hijmans, 2017. Worldclim 2: New 1-km spatial resolution climate surfaces for global land areas.
What is Isothermality?
Definition: Isothermality quantifies how large the day- to-night temperatures oscillate relative to the summer- to-winter (annual) oscillations. Isothermality quantifies how large the day-to- night temperatures oscillate relative to the summer- to-winter (annual) oscillations.
What are the 19 Bioclim variables?
BIOCLIM Variables:
- BIO1 = Annual Mean Temperature.
- BIO2 = Mean Diurnal Range (Mean of monthly (max temp – min temp))
- BIO3 = Isothermality (BIO2/BIO7) (* 100)
- BIO4 = Temperature Seasonality (standard deviation *100)
- BIO5 = Max Temperature of Warmest Month.
- BIO6 = Min Temperature of Coldest Month.
What does temperature seasonality mean?
Interpretation: Temperature seasonality is a measure of temperature change over the course of the year. The larger the standard deviation, the greater the variability of temperature.
How can I download NASA climate data?
Download Climate Data from NASA website From NASA website power.larc.nasa.gov you can download: Minimum Temperature, Temperature Range, Maximum Temperature, Surface Pressure (kPa), Specific Humidity, Relative Humidity, Precipitation, Wind Speed Range, Minimum Wind Speed, Maximum Wind Speed…
What are bioclimatic variables?
Bioclimatic variables (Environmental variables) Bioclimatic variables are derived from the monthly temperature and rainfall values in order to generate more biologically meaningful variables. These are often used in species distribution modeling and related ecological modeling techniques.
What is Bioclim?
BIOCLIM is a species distribution modelling system created by CSIRO in partnership with the Federal Government’s Bureau of Flora and Fauna.
