How do I save a shapefile in Python?
x lines of Python: read and write a shapefile
- Open the shapefile with fiona (i.e. not using geopandas yet).
- Inspect its contents.
- Open the shapefile again, this time with geopandas.
- Inspect the resulting GeoDataFrame in various ways.
- Check the CRS of the data.
- Change the CRS of the GeoDataFrame.
- Compute a new attribute.

I trying to save file from GeoDataFrame to shapefile or spatialite. But for some reason i got error: My GeoDataFrame appear correctly without any issuesi look’s like there is something wrong with my gdf.to_file commend but i have no idea what.
Why is geopandas not able to write CRS?
So, it seems as GeoPandas is not able to read/write crs of the data frame into the output dataset when calling the to_file () method. I have tried calling to_file () on GeoDataFrames constructed from various sources and datasets and the coordinate system information was never present in the output dataset. Has anyone run into this issue before?
What can be accepted as a coordinate reference in geopandas?

What kind of data structure is a geodataframe?
