What kind of interface do I need for Motu 828 Mk1?
I’m brand new to pro audio recording, and I’m putting together my system right now. I’m interested in buying a MOTU 828 Mk1 interface in order to pipe 4 XLR mics through the 828, through firewire, into the Mac, into some software VSTs, then back out through firewire to the 828 and output to some live monitors.
Can a tmotu 828 be used on a Mac?
TMOTU Audiodesk software is supplied with the 828.o make use of the 828 on a Mac, the computer should be a 300MHz or faster G3 or G4, with at least one FireWire port and FireWire Enabler 2.4 or later. You can use MacOS 8, but OS 9 is recommended.

They feature a total of 18 inputs, have optical in and outs, 2 xlrs, spdif, ADAT sync, a dedicated hardware monitor and a firewire interface. When I went to MOTU’s website I was amazed to find they still supported it with their audio driver which you can download here .
