What pins does the motor shield use?
The shield uses the SDA and SCL i2c pins to control DC and stepper motors. On the Arduino UNO these are also known as A4 and A5. On the Mega these are also known as Digital 20 and 21.
What does a motor drive shield do?
The Arduino Motor Shield allows you to easily control motor direction and speed using an Arduino. By allowing you to simply address Arduino pins, it makes it very simple to incorporate a motor into your project. It also allows you to be able to power a motor with a separate power supply of up to 12v.
Do you need an Arduino Motor Shield?
You don’t need this shield to drive servo motors, they have their own controller, you need just a 5V power line, GND and digital output pin to generate a PWM and that’s it. Usually Arduino has enough power to drive servo motors. This shield you are talking about is used for DC (direct current) and stepper motor.
What should I do if my splash shield is broken?
If a splash shield or fender liner is hanging loose, your mechanic might be able to re-secure it. If a loose shield or a fender liner is partially broken and cannot be secured properly, it should be replaced, because a loose shield or liner may become a safety concern if it separates while driving.
Why do I need a motor shield on my Arduino?
Motors take a lot of power, and can cause ‘brownouts’ that reset the Arduino. For that reason the shield is designed for seperate (split) supplies – one for the electronics and one for the motor. Doing this will prevent brownouts.
Why does my car splash shield keep breaking?
Plastic parts become fragile when cold and break easily when driving over packed snow, road debris or when parking over a high curb. Some automakers design cars so that an engine splash shield has to be removed every time when doing an oil change. Because of that, some of the fasteners wear out and get lost over time.
When to replace an engine splash shield or Fender liner?
If a loose shield or a fender liner is partially broken and cannot be secured properly, it should be replaced, because a loose shield or liner may become a safety concern if it separates while driving. If the part is not available, your mechanic may recommend removing it temporarily if it’s safe to drive without it.
