When did the Sentinel-2 Level 2A algorithm become operational?
The SENTINEL-2 Level-2A processing provides Level-2 products (BOA reflectance) from Level-1C products (TOA reflectance). From the middle of March 2018, the Level-2A became an operational product, beginning with coverage of the Euro-Mediterranean region, with a gradual ramp-up to systematic worldwide coverage planned for the summ er of 2018.
What can I do with Sentinel-2 level 1C data?
Level 1C processing includes radiometric and geometric corrections that include orthorectification and spatial registration according to a global reference system with subpixel accuracy. Geomatica ATCOR only supports level 1C Sentinel-2 data. Please note that Sentinel-2 ATCOR support was added in Geomatica 2017.
Which is the spatial resolution of Sentinel 2?
As per the ESA Sentinel-2 website the spatial resolution of Sentinel-2 is dependent on the particular spectral band: https://earth.esa.int/web/sentinel/user-guides/sentinel-2-msi/resolutions/spatial. For now choose the 10M option
What is the function of the Sentinel-2 MSI?
Sentinel-2 Spectral Response Functions (S2-SRF) This spreadsheet contains the measured spectral responses for each band of the Sentinel-2 MultiSpectral Instrument (MSI) for the different satellite units.
How big is a Sentinel-2 level-2a cell?
Specifications ¶ Specification Product name Sentinel-2 Level-2A Number of bands 15 Cell size – X (metres) 10, 20, 60 (band-dependent, see Table 2) Cell size – Y (metres) 10, 20, 60 (band-dependent, see Table 2)
What kind of data is in Sentinel 2?
Sentinel-2 data is tiered by level of pre-processing. Level-0, Level-1A and Level-1B data contain raw data from the satellites, with little to no pre-processing. Level-1C data is surface reflectance measured at the top of the atmosphere.
How big are the tiles in Sentinel 2?
For Level-1C and Level-2A, the granules, also called tiles, are 100×100 km 2 ortho-images in UTM/WGS84 projection. Download the Sentinel-2 tiling grid kml. The UTM (Universal Transverse Mercator) system divides the Earth’s surface into 60 zones.
