Where are photostream photos stored on Mac?
New photos and items that you add to Photos are stored in the Photos library. This library automatically becomes your System Photo Library, which Photos accesses each time you open the app.
Where are photo Stream photos stored?
Photos (except Live Photos) are uploaded to the cloud and stored for 30 days. To save or back up your pics, you have to save them from My Photo Stream to your iOS or Mac device. To view your photos in My Photo Stream, go to Photos > Albums > My Photo Stream (see picture below).
Where does my Photo Stream go on my computer?
When you turn on Photos, iCloud for Windows creates a Photos folder in File Explorer called iCloud Photos. My Photo Stream automatically downloads any new photos that you take on your iOS devices to the Downloads folder.

You can access your collection on these devices when you sign in to iCloud with your Apple ID. iCloud Photos and My Photo Stream upload your collection to iCloud each time your device connects to the Internet and your battery is charged. iCloud will upload these file types.
