Use the Navigation buttons
- Recents: The button to the far left. When you tap this, your recently opened apps will appear.
- Home: The button in the very center. Tap this to be taken to the Home screen.
- Back: The button to the far right. Tap this to go back to the previous screen.

Where is the go back button on a tablet?
On tablet habits is to have back button on top left because the navigation is a page by page navigation. ..and more often you go to the next page when you tape a line which has a right arrow at right. The metaphor is you go to the downer next page (daughter page)
No need to clutter the interface if you can simply use the scrollbar or your finger to quickly navigate to the top. Place a persistent Back to Top button in the lower right side of the page. This is where people expect to see it. This position is out of the way, but noticeable.
Android has a hardware back button. Pressing the haradware back button will navigate to the previous. I don’t think you need a custom back button. I don’t think its a good programming practice to override the default behaviour. You create a backbutton in your activity and implementing the functionality as you have done above.
