Where is the retraction setting in PrusaSlicer?
Retraction settings can be found in PrusaSlicer in Printer Settings -> Extruder 1. Due to the Bowden extruder, the retraction length of the Original Prusa MINI presets are much longer (default 3.2 mm).
What is a good retraction speed for 3D printing?
If you retract too quickly, the filament may separate from the hot plastic inside the nozzle, or the quick movement of the drive gear may even grind away pieces of your filament. There is usually a sweet spot somewhere between 1200-6000 mm/min (20-100 mm/s) where retraction performs best.
Should I enable retraction 3D printing?
Retraction settings are related to the speed and length at which your filament is pulled back within your extrusion path, so the melted filament at the nozzle doesn’t leak out while moving. Retraction can improve overall print quality and stop print imperfections such as blobs and zits.
What is the retraction length of prusaslicer profile?
The Prusa defaults for PrusaSlicer profiles are 0.8mm retraction with 0.6mm z-hop. What slicer and profiles are you using? That’s what my Retraction is set at: 0.8mm retraction length (not 4.0mm – too much for a direct drive feed), and 0.6mm Lift Z at 40mm/sec. I get minimal stringing at those settings (more like whisps than actual stringing).
Do you need to use prusaslicer for Z Lift?
If you’ve got your basic extrusion multiplier calibrated for a specific filament, you should have very little ooze and thus need very little z lift over horizontal printed surfaces. If you haven’t already, do an extrusion multiplier calibration for that filament with PrusaSlicer and try again.
How to prevent nozzle Scrape when travelling across print?
In Cura, there is a setting “Z Hop when retracted” with a z-hop value which prevents the nozzle from “hitting” the print while traveling. I have only just started using Prusaslicer but I cannot find the equivalent setting?
