Why are pop ups important in a story map?
Pop-ups are an important part of your story map because they enable you to provide your audience with text, images, graphs, and so forth, about specific features on the map. To configure pop-ups for a layer in a web map, click the layer’s menu in the Contents window, and choose Configure Pop-up.
Where do I Find my StoryMaps in ArcGIS?
At any point, you can return to your My Projects page via the profile menu in the upper right-hand corner of the app header. If you haven’t created any stories with ArcGIS StoryMaps, you’ll only see the Create new story button with the plus sign.

Can you hide the publication date in StoryMaps builder?
While the StoryMaps builder will automatically update the date in your story’s cover every time you re-publish it, you have the option to instead display the story’s original publication date or hide the date altogether if you’d prefer.

In the gallery of application templates that appears, browse to the Story Map Basic app, select it, and click Create App. You’ll then be prompted for information about the web mapping application you are publishing. You can accept the defaults that match what you already entered when you saved your web map.
