Why do I get a 404 error on rewrite rule?
This generates a 404 error. The default.asp file in photo_shares never gets called. This is with rule configured as a rewrite. The physical path in the 404 error indicates that the rewrite isn’t being processed correctly. 3. Why do I get 404 error every time I access my domain?
With this enabled I receive a 404 error every time I access my domain. However if I change this to a redirect rule, everything works fine. Is there something I’m missing here? Thanks in advance. As Daniel explains, you can’t rewrite to a domain (unless you set up IIS as a reverse proxy with ARR).
Where do I find the rewrite rule in IIS?
The IIS logs show the cs-uri-stem as /photo_shares/list/collections/Natural+Hazards/1 and the cs-uri-query field is blank. This rule was imported from helicon isapi_rewirte .htaccess file and in the iis logs this rewrite rule would have have a uri-stem of photo_shares/default.asp and a uri query of ?coll=Natural Hazards&CurPage=1&np=9
