Why do I have to sign into Google to use YouTube?
Why do I need to sign in to a Google Account on YouTube? You access YouTube with your Google Account. The password you’ve used to sign in is your Google Account password. As we integrate services across Google, we no longer support signing in to Google Accounts with YouTube usernames.
How do I add my YouTube account to my Google Account?
- Go to the YouTube.com homepage.
- Click the “Sign In” link.
- Enter your YouTube username and password for your YouTube channel and click the “Sign In” button.
- Go to the YouTube link page.
- Select the “Please link your YouTube and Google accounts” option.
Do I need to sign in to YouTube?
While it’s not necessarily required, we do recommend signing in to YouTube. Signing in allows you to like and comment on the videos you find, share videos more easily, and even upload and edit your own videos. You’ll need a Google account to sign in to YouTube.
