Why do we prefer N channel MOSFET instead of P-channel?
The N-channel MOSFET has several advantages over the P-channel MOSFET. For example, the N-channel majority carriers (electrons) have a higher mobility than the P-channel majority carriers (holes). Because of this, the N-channel transistor has lower RDS(on) and gate capacitance for the same die area.

To turn off the N-channel Depletion-type MOSFET, there are 2 steps you can take. You can either cut off the bias positive voltage, V DD, that powers the drain. Or you can apply sufficient negative voltage to the gate. When sufficient voltage is applied to the gate, the drain current is stopped.
