Why does my car keep unlocking and locking by itself?

Just to note, after having the car almost 2 years, this has only happened twice, both times within the last month, the most recent last night. I pull into garage, take key (non-smart key) out and put in cup holder, open door, get out and then presumable at some point the car locks itself, with key inside. Can anyone explain why? Thanks!
