Why does my Raspberry Pi have a black screen?
Raspberry Pi doesn’t support HDMI hot-plugging. So if you connect or power on the monitor after Raspberry Pi power is on, you will see a black screen.
How to disable the blank screen on Raspberry Pi 2?
By default the screen is blanked after around 10/15 minutes if no user input (mouse or keyboard) is detected. I successfully tested both methods with a Raspberry Pi 2 + latest Raspbian Jessie (v4.1) + 7-inch touchscreen display. Why is my Raspberry Pi stuck on the rainbow screen?
If you are stuck on the rainbow screen, it could also tell you that your system is not compatible with your Raspberry Pi model. This screen normally flashes quickly on boot, and then the operating system starts to boot. If there is an issue with the SD card compatibility, it will stay on this rainbow screen.
Why is my Raspberry Pi not showing green?

At the lightdm-greeter blackscreen, I switched to a virtual terminal ( Alt 2 ), logged in, then found the pid of lightdm-greeter with top -b -n 1 | grep ‘lightdm’, then I tried sudo kill -s SIGHUP [pid], then used top again to see if the greeter was still running, then tried sudo kill -s SIGTERM and used top again and the greeter was not running.
Why does LightDM not start in low graphic mode?
GUI session intact. I started experiencing this issue after applying the current lightdm patch last week. The greeter would fail to start due to lack of access to /var/lib/lightdm/.Xauthority, the result being a low graphic mode error which could only be resolved for one session by removing /var/lib/lightdm/.Xauthority.
Why does LightDM keep crashing on my computer?
Switching to gdm did solve the problem logging in to my computer with a gui but hell this lightdm should work I guess.. The logs aren’t pretty much of help for me but maybe someone know what’s up?
