Why does my throttle body keep getting stuck?

How do I fix a stuck throttle?
Take a digital photo to help you put it back together when you’re done. At the engine end, loosen the clamp that holds the cable to the engine and unhook the cable from the carburetor. Pour penetrating oil into the cable (Photo 1). Grab the inner cable with pliers and work it up and down to loosen it.
Why is my throttle not going back?
If the throttle does not completely return the cable may be binding, incorrectly routed, frayed, or corroded, which warrants further investigation. With the bike OFF, twist the trottle open to the stop and let go. Make sure the throttle returns to the closed position quickly and easily.
What happens if the throttle is stuck in the closed position?
If your throttle is sticking to the closed position, you can still start your motorcycle but it will just idle and you won’t be able to accelerate. If the throttle becomes stuck in the closed position while you’re out on a ride, you may be able to putt your way home on back roads if you’re close enough.

Is it dangerous if your throttle cable is stuck?
It is a much more dangerous situation if your throttle cable is stuck to the open position because your motorcycle will continue to try and accelerate. It is especially dangerous if this spontaneously happens while you’re out for a ride.
Why is throttle body butterfly valve plate stuck in closed?
It looks like DAL permanently removed the right side of the TB and made a jumper from the accelerator pedal opening sensor to the throttle valve opening sensor since they’re the same output (pgs 19-114 through 19-116). Last edited by Mac Attack; 11-27-2009 at 10:28 .
