Why is chromium not opening on my Raspberry Pi?
I ran sudo apt-get install chromium-browser and it installed the newest version 50. I go to launch Chromium, I can see the CPU ramp up to 100% and the mouse gets a timer icon, but then nothing. Chromium never launches. If I try to run chromium-browser from the Terminal I get an “illegal instruction” error.
Why is my Raspberry Pi still unable to open display?
I want chromium-browser to use the display of the raspberry pi ( not the local display of my Windows machine). I still get the same error : I’m using Putty, X11 forwarding is disabled both in sshd_config and Putty settings. This is meant to be a one-shot run. I do not want to control anything remotely after the browser is started.

If you’re using Chromium Snap, then replacing cd /usr/lib/chromium-browser with ~/snap/chromium/current/.local/lib/ might help. In my case, my chromium version didn’t have lib folder so I just created one.
