Several years ago I did this to my 2004 330cic .. recently it started to leak coolant when I look at the bottom of the expansion tank, there’s a lower hose that appears to be the source of the leak. The hose, even with the A clip installed/down in the lock position, easily slides on and off.

Hose and expansion tank are only 6000 miles old. On small distances trips 8 miles, no issue. On longer trip 12 miles, there is a leak noticed in the morning after the engine got colder. It leaks exactly at the same place.
