Why is my computer not connecting to network after getting a static IP?

Before getting a static IP address, I had manually set my IP in Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Network Connections. They when i got a static IP address, I changed to automatically obtaining an IP. I restarted my computer. Since then, my dell hasnt been able to connect to the Wifi that has the static IP.
