Why is my CPU not using all cores?

Its certainly nothing I have done – have not been into BIOS since I put the rig together. Puzzled. I suggest you go into BIOS and make sure HT is turned on. Yes, did that and it seems to be turned on. Still showing the 4 cores only. how many cpus in device manager? Which i7 and motherboard? BIOS revision #?
