Why is my Danish oil still sticky?
Danish oil can also become sticky if applied incorrectly, at the wrong rate. If it is an old can, the oil may turn tacky so it is best to buy fresh oil if you are unsure. To remove the sticky oil patch, wet a cloth with white spirits and, using a circular motion, wipe it over the worktop a small area at a time.
Can you put Danish oil over stain?

What to do about tacky finish on wood?
A week later the wood has an inconsistent tacky/ gummy and shiny finish and the grain seems to have risen. I’ve read that wiping down the surface daily with mineral turpentine or methylated spirits will eventually remove the tacky surface.
What’s the temp in a sticky Danish oil shop?

Why is my kitchen floor sticky with Danish oil?
