Why is my drone overheating?
There are numerous factors that contribute to drone motors overheating. Ambient temperature, motor interference, weight distribution, long mounting bolts, over-sized propellers, and filter issues could all be contributing to the strain your motors are subjected to.

An ESC can keep ruining motors once it has been connected this way. The worst thing a brushless ESC can do is send DC directly into a three phase motor and then it will burn out. If the esc inadvertently glitched and went brushed on a brushless motor this is a bad thing.
