Why is my render blurry?
Your render looks blurry because of the low samples in the render tab. As you can see in the picture you have 2 sliders, one that says preview : That’s the one you use if you go to render mode. And the other slider that says render.
Why is my GFX grainy?
Higher sharpening can cause things to be super grainy and even cause major shimmering – Especially on 1080 resolution. -If you’re restricted to 1080 resolution, turn in-game AA off and use Nvidias AA in 3D Settings, within Nvidia control panel – There’s also other settings you can force to help clear image up a bit.
Why is my V-Ray render so grainy?
Standard quality renderings are meant as draft or preview images. An image can also look noisy if there is inadequate illumination in the scene. For example, if you are rendering an interior shot that is lit with sunlight, but do not have enough windows to let the light through, then the image will look grainy.
Why are my renders so grainy after 8 hours?
Make sure there are not any emmisive materials lighting the scene. In fact, I would just turn of any emissive materials while trouble shooting the problem. Also, progressive mode is a no-no for final renders…should be used for tests & set up, then set to bucket rendering for finals.

Why do point lights make weird things happen?
Infinitely small point lights are unnatural, so in unbiased renders they make weird things happen. In the old computer graphic days it used to be the other way around: Using an area light added considerably to the render time until the results looked good.
