I would get the “500 OOPS: priv_sock_get_cmd” response right after the FTP client connected to vsftpd. Using strace on the server I got: One SIGCHLD for every attempt to connect (and “500 OOPS” response). So, for some reason, vsftpd is having trouble spawning its child process to deal with an incoming connexion.
