Why would a refund fail?
A refund can fail if the customer’s bank or card issuer has been unable to process it correctly (e.g., a closed bank account or a problem with the card).
How long should online refunds take?
A debit card refund takes a couple of days to process. In fact, the time frame is generally between 7-10 business days. In the best-case scenario it could take up to 3 days depending on your bank.
Why Refunds are not instant?
When you make a debit card purchase, the money is transferred out of your bank account to the merchant. The bank cannot issue an immediate refund to your debit card because the process is instant, and your money is no longer there.
