How do I mount a Google Drive stream?
Install
- Do you currently have Google Drive Sync installed?
- Uninstall Google Drive Sync.
- Open Google Drive and select “Download Drive File Stream for Windows” under Settings.
- Select the “Download for Windows” blue button.
- The DriveFileStream.exe is now in Downloads and can be used to install File Stream.
Can I use Google Drive file stream for personal account?
G Suite File Stream now allows personal Gmail accounts to sync Drive with their PC or Mac. It’s called File Stream and it lets them connect their Google Drive to their local PC or Mac computer in the same way that Chromebook owners use Drive with their Files app – by streaming it.

To unmount, simply press “CTRL+c” to stop the mount. In my case, I mounted my Google drive in a mount point directory named “~/drive”. Replace remote name (i.e mygoogledrive) and mount point name (~/drive) with your own values. Open your file manager and you will see the drive folder in the left side.
