How do I reimport media in FCPX?
If the media you want to import is on an external storage device or a memory card, connect the device to your Mac and turn on the device. In Final Cut Pro, do one of the following: Choose File > Import > Media (or press Command-I). Click the Import Media button on the left side of the toolbar.

When this happens, and you try to share/export a project, you’ll receive an error message that says “This item cannot be shared while it is still referencing media on the camera.” If it’s an image of a camera, then that means that the file is still being referenced from the original media (i.e. SD Card).

It could be that you disconnected your camera or SD card before the import was completed. That can give you the “still referencing” message. Try importing the clips to your desktop using the Image Capture app in your Mac applications folder. Then drag them from your desktop into iMovie.
